MACHINERY Directive
Directive 2006/42/EC, more commonly known as the Machinery Directive, establishes the Essential Safety Requirements (RES) in order to allow the free movement of machinery within the European market and to safeguard the safety and health of users.

It applies to:

  • machines
  • interchangeable equipment
  • safety components
  • lifting accessories
  • chains, ropes and straps designed and constructed for lifting purposes as an integral part of lifting machines or lifting accessories
  • removable mechanical transmission devices;
  • partly completed machinery

Directive 2014/34/UE


ATEX Directive
"ATEX" stands for "ATmosphere EXplosive", explosive atmosphere. Due to the risks derived from the presence of potentially explosive atmospheres, the European Union has adopted this directive, which covers equipment used in these specific areas; it is aimed at manufacturers and takes the form of mandatory product certification.

Directive 2014/68/UE


PED Directive
The PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) aims to coordinate all regulations on containers that convey fluids under pressure at European level. It regulates the design, construction, equipment and safe installation of pressure machinery: pipes, hydraulic valves and vessels subject to a gauge pressure greater than 0.5 bar fall within the scope of the standard, machines excluded.
